Our university’s 3 majors, i.e., ideological and political education, administrative management and radio and television journalism, are selected as among the 2nd batch of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, as released by the Ministry of Education in the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites in 2020.
Up to now, 6 majors from our university, i.e., law, political science and administration, journalism, ideological and political education, administrative management and radio and television journalism, have been selected as among the list of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and there are 18 first-class major construction sites at Chongqing municipal level.
It is reported that the 2nd batch of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites are deliberated and voted by the Ministry of Education Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions after application by each college and university and approval by competent department on the basis of the first batch of construction sites and in light of the spirit of the document Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on the Implementation of the “Double Ten-thousand Plan” for the Construction of First-class Undergraduate Majors (General Office of the Ministry of Education [2019] No. 18). The 2nd batch identifies a total of 3,977 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 4,448 provincial first-class major construction sites.
In recent years, our university has taken the declaration of first-class majors in the “Double Ten-thousand Plan” as an opportunity to thoroughly implement the spirit of the “New Liberal Arts” work conference, serve national strategic needs, and adapt to national and regional economic and social development and industry talent needs, and, by adhering to promoting construction through evaluation, driving our university’s overall professional construction level through major declaration, and continuously enhancing the professional talent cultivation ability, has gradually formed our university’s first-class major system led by the national first-class major construction program and on the basis of Chongqing municipal first-class major construction program, thus contributing to our university’s “Double First-class” construction.
