Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics: the School of Foreign Languages.

The master of foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, which was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, was established in June, 2003, and began to recruit students in 2004. It consists of three directions: A contrastive study of English and Chinese forensic language, the theory and practice of legal translation and the English Pedagogy, and there are nearly 20 courses, for example, English-Chinese Contrastive Forensic Linguistics, advanced legal English, translation theory and the practice of legal translation.  This discipline is a combination of both law and English, with a strong professional advantages and characteristics, which cultivates high level inter-disciplinary talents proficient in both English and law. The students thus cultivated are welcomed by the society.
