Recently, China Law Society released a series of project approval announcements on 2018 Ministerial Level Law Research Projects (later funded projects and annual projects). 30 projects of SWUPLin total were approved to be set up.

As of December 2018, SWUPL had been approved to set up 30 projects of the 2018 China Law Society, including 3 major projects, 6 general projects, 2 youth research projects, 16 self-selected projects and 3 later funded projects. The amount of the 2018 China Law Society projects (set up in SWUPL) ranked the top among other universities nationwide.

According to the results of the review, The Research of the Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Judicial System Reform written by Professor Tan Zongze of School of Administrative Law, The Research on the Construction of Rules for Digital Trade Topic under the WTO Framework and China Proposal written by Professor Chen Yongmei of School of International Law and Research on China's Intellectual Property Security Rule of Law Guarantee written by Professor Huang Hui of School of Civil and Commercial Law were approved as the major projects, making SWUPL the university with the largest number of major projects setting up. Furthermore, among the projects approved, a total of 19 people under the age of 39 are responsible for this project, which indicated that SWUPL's the echelon construction work of our research team had achieved practical results and that the development model of the young and middle-aged scientific research team had taken initial shape. This is an important achievement of the university greatly accelerated strategy "strengthening the university through scientific research", which strongly supports and promotes SWUPL "Double Tops" construction.
