Opening Ceremony of International Students Program Was Held in SWUPL

On November 15th, the opening ceremony of 2018 SWUPL international master and Ph.D. programs were held in China-ASEAN Legal Research Center. The officials from China-ASEAN Legal Research Center and 18 students of International Ph.D. Program attended the meeting.

Vice President Tang Li committed that SWUPL would continue to provide logistical support for international students' life as before and offer a better study environment. Tang also said he expected that international students could settle down to the living and studying environment soon and develop a personal learning plan to accomplish their study successfully.

Gan Guoqiang, Deputy Dean of Graduate School, summarized the achievements that SWUPL gained in international education after years of construction and development. He also said that in order to offer a better service for ASEAN nations and countries along the route of the Belt and Road, SWUPL had an overall improvement in corresponding courses and attached importance to the development of students' practical ability. He hoped international students could obey the school regulations, pursue excellence in study and became messengers of cultural communication.

Chin Malin, representative of international students, made a speech on the great significance of the exchange program for the communication between international student and China-ASEAN high-level legal talents and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. He also said international students would finish their courses with high quality, and integrate themselves into Chinese society, positively to build bridges of communication between States and promote connections between governments, companies and people.

Zhang Li, representative of teachers, delivered a speech and interacted with international students. She not only extended welcome and congratulations to international students but also embodied the SWUPL spirit of openness and inclusiveness.

Qin Jie, Dean of School of International Education, announced the scholarship list, and encouraged international students to promote legal exchanges between China and ASEAN as well as China and Africa.
