  On February 11, 2018, the outdoor temperature dropped to minus ten degrees. The North Hall of school center of University of Montana was full of singing, applause, laughter. 2018 Spring Festival Gala cum talent show in the Confucius Institute at the University of Montana kicked off. The president of University of Montana affirmed the contribution of Sino-Us Culture Exchange made by Confucius Institute, and wish everyone a happy new year.

  The theme of this gala was “cultural blending”, which was composed of five major plates. The first part is "gratitude". With the mysterious Indian drums, Indian dancers rotated unceasingly in the stage with colorful costumes. It had conveyed that human beings revere the nature. This fantasy dance ignites the whole scene in a moment.

  The second part was the combination of Chinese songs from schoolchildren. The Chinese students from Lewis&Clark panda club of the primary school sung a series of popular Chinese Nursery Rhymes. With clear lyrics, lively expression, lovely action, they made a deep impression on the audience. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable.

  The third part is performed by the local ballet of the Rockv Mountains. They performed the classic selections of The Red Detachment of Women, The White-haired Girl, the dance of Mongolia and folk song of Guangxi “beautiful and magical place”. The ballet had performed in China many times. The major actors and actresses were the students of the Confucius College. Their outstanding professional qualities, exquisite dance and graceful singing greatly intoxicated audience.

  The fourth part is the performance of high school and university students. Teachers’ performance of hulusi and xiao leaded to an exciting show. The Doctoral graduate student of University of Montana, Wu Bishuai, played a majestic erhu piece "horse race". Later, Chinese students of local high school gave singing and dancing performances. They wear cheongsam and Chinese traditional customs to sing Chinese song “Memory In Water”“Sweet Honey”“Wishing for an eternity for mankind”, Then they showed dances “Hongyan” and “Zhuoma”, attracting applause from the audience.

  The fifth part is to bring blessing and gift, the Confucius Institute teachers performed Tai Chi Fan and Chinese classical dance, to show Chinese cultural charms and send the audience New Year wishes.

  After the activity, the local people still linger on. They had great compliments on this gala and showed their gratitude to the teachers of Confucius College. They also wished this gala could be held yearly to continue the cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
