University of Maryland Delegate Visits SWUPL

   On November 7th,director of the Office of China Affairs at the University of Maryland,Nathaniel Ahrensand , WangdaiJiping and the other members visited SWUPL.The two sides held talks and reached consensus on formal inter-university cooperation, student and faculty exchange programs, research cooperation and so forth.

  Vice President Yuan Yongxin extended sincere welcome to Nathaniel Ahrens for his revisit to SWUPL. He gave a detailed description about the aim of the 13th Five-year Plan for SWUPL,and the willing to build a double top university.Yuan also remarked that the cooperation between SWUPL and University of Maryland had gone from strength to strength in research, student and faculty exchanges and so on.He expressed the hope to achieve a formal all-round partnership and a bilateral framework agreement as soon as possible.

  Nathaniel Ahrens gave a brief introduction of the University of Maryland. Furthermore, he said that the University of Maryland attached great importance to the cooperation with Chinese universities.In addition,Nathaniel went into details on cooperation regarding student exchange programs.And he expressed his vision to sign the framework agreement as soon as possible and to launch cooperative programs.

  SWUPL International exchange and cooperation department chief Guo Meisong,vice chief Qin Jie,the personnel director Hu Yabin, vice director of the dean’s office Zhong Manjuan were also in attendance.
