Teachers from SWUPL Attended the Academic Symposium and Executive Committee Meeting of ISFL in France

From May 4th to 8th, the 2018 Academic Symposium and Executive Committee Meeting of International Society of Family Law was held in the conference hall of International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. The theme of the conference was "The influence of international human rights literature on national family law". A total of more than 40 experts and scholars attended this meeting, including members of the executive committee of ISFL from France, the United States, China, Russia, Canada, Greece, Argentina, Poland, Czech Republic, Israel, etc., and teachers from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and Université de Strasbourg, UDS. Professor Chen Wei and Doctor Shi Lei both from the School of Civil and Commercial Law, SWUPL, attended this Academic Symposium. Moreover, Professor Chen Wei as Vice-Chairman of ISFL attended the executive committee meeting. During the Academic Symposium, Prof. Chen and Dr. Shi gave a speech on International Convention on the Rights of the Child and Foreign-related Adoption System in China, which sparked heated discussion among representatives present at the meeting.

The executive committee meeting was hosted by Chairman of ISFL, Principal of Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 Professor Hugues. He notified the general situation of the executive committee meeting of ISFL, the situation of the financial revenue, website construction and the print publication of the International Overview of Family Law in 2017. Other notifications include the working condition of outreach committee, the establishment of the scholarship for young scholars and the preparation for the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of ISFL in 2023. Representatives present at the meeting put emphasis on studying and discussing the relevant issues on the convening of the executive committee meeting in 2019 and the 17th world conference of International Society of Family Law in 2020.
